  • Description: Provides law enforcement and emergency services within the city of Albany. Works with the community to promote safety, reduce crime, and preserve peace. Serves as safe haven newborn child drop-off facility.

    Safe Surrender provides a 24 hours daily, to bring newborn no more than 72 hours old. Allows parents or legal guardians to confidentially surrender babies without fear of prosecution no questions asked. Provides needed medical care to surrendered babies. Places infants in foster or pre-adoptive homes. Allowing parents or legal guardians that qualify to exercise a 14-day claim option.

    Please note:
    Offers police services during Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) and Disasters. Services are available if power is turned off in this facility.
