• Description: Provides outpatient detoxification for up to 180 days followed by methadone maintenance and counseling services to heroin addicts whose addiction is so severe and/or long-term that maintenance is a necessary adjunct to counseling. The program seeks to stabilize clients' lives by drawing them away from the patterns of a drug-abuse lifestyle. After a period of methadone maintenance, the client is slowly withdrawn from methadone. Counselors assist clients in making the adjustment to a drug-free lifestyle.
