  Medi-Cal is California's Medicaid program. Medi-Cal is a public health insurance program providing health care services for low income individuals including those under the age of 21, seniors 65 and older, individuals with blindness or disabilities, children in foster care, former foster youth under age 26, pregnant people, people in a skilled nursing facility, and those with specific diseases such as tuberculosis, breast cancer, or HIV/AIDS. Medi-Cal may provide recipients with benefits coverage for pregnancy and postpartum services, health and dental services, hospital stays, long term care, vision care and payment for medications.
