• Description:

  The General Assistance Program (GA) is a County-funded loan program for low or no income adults who are residents of Santa Cruz County and have no other means of support. GA is designed to assist eligible adults in meeting their basic needs for housing, utilities, personal needs, and transportation. GA recipients must apply for other types of available income as a condition of eligibility. GA support may be provided to disabled individuals who need support until their Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits are awarded, unemployed individuals, or as assistance for people experiencing homelessness to help in finding a place of residence.
