Provides emergency management and disaster planning services for Marin County. Coordinates emergency operations activities among various local jurisdictions and develops written guidelines. Serves as liaison between State and all local government subdivisions comprising Marin County.
Provides disaster preparedness presentations and planning guidance for schools, businesses, and other organizations. Trains Civic Center employees on emergency evacuation procedures. Also sponsors the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (RACES) program.
Maintains the County-Wide Emergency Plan, which provides written guidelines for emergency response. Plan covers earthquakes, hazardous materials, storms and flooding, fire, tsunamis, and terrorism.
