• Description: Provides Resource Family Approval (RFA) process for families to license their home to accept foster children. Before a child can be placed in a home, potential foster parents must obtain a license to provide care to foster children. The first step in obtaining a license is to attend a brief orientation held by Contra Costa County Children and Family Services. This is followed by a training and once placed, a social worker works with the child and the family. Financial assistance is also available to foster care parents.
