RESPITE CARE PROGRAM - FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES (CHILDREN'S IN HOME RESPITE CARE), FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES

Did this help?

  • Description: Provides respite (planned break) to: resource (foster) parents, to a limited number of Contra Costa County kin and fictive kin caregivers with a non-dependent Contra Costa County child, and biological parents with a child eligible for services through Regional Center of the East Bay. The purpose of respite is to provide occasional, planned child care breaks to families in order to relieve some of the stress and responsibility that full-time care giving of children with special needs brings. Three types of respite care are available: in the family home, in the home of a licensed provider, or at selected sites in the community.
