Description: Receives and screens reports of physical, emotional or sexual abuse, financial or material exploitation, neglect, isolation or abandonment of individuals 60+ and dependent adults age 18 or over who are unable to protect their own interests, have been harmed or are threatened with harm. APS is available 24 hours daily to receive reports. All reports are confidential and must be evaluated and statistics logged for the state as required by law. Case management, emergency shelter and some limited support services may also be available. APS is available to do outreach on financial elder abuse and other elder abuse issues.
Eligibility: Individual 60+ or dependent adult in Contra Costa County who is believed to have been a victim of physical, emotional or sexual abuse, financial or material exploitation, neglect, isolation or abandonment.
