- Description: Provides free, confidential, one-on-one basic instruction in reading, writing, and spelling to adults who can converse in English. Instruction is provided by trained volunteers. Adult learner/tutor pairs meet twice a week, for an hour and a half each time at libraries or other public locations throughout Contra Costa County. Trains volunteer tutors three times per year.
