Description: "Community of Care" is a Trans-E-Motion grant and service program providing monetary, physical, or logistical support to Fresno/Madera county residents who are undergoing gender affirming care.
Transgender, non-binary, gender-fluid, gender expansive, and/or Two-Spirit may apply for monetary or physical/logistical assistance for gender affirming care.
Monetary support: funds granted to you for travel, lodging, food, medications, post-op recovery supplies, etc. No interest, no fees, no need to return any funds given. No need to provide proof of expenses.
Physical support: volunteers assisting in cleaning bandages, changing garments, and assisting with in-home after-care.
Logistical support: volunteers bringing in groceries, helping to take care of plants/pets, checking in on you as you recover, driving you to/from appointments requiring caregiver presence and transportation.
Please submit this application at least 6 weeks before the date(s) of your GAC needs. Submitting an application is not a guarantee of acceptance. If requesting physical or logistical support, please have a back-up plan in place in case our small number of volunteers are not able to assist you.
