SCHOOL FOOD PROGRAMS - SIERRA HARVEST, SIERRA HARVEST

Description: Offers the Farm To School program that connects Nevada County schools and partner farms, serving the K-8 grade population in Western Nevada County with farm field trips, school produce stands, classroom visits by chefs and farmers, as well as monthly tastings of seasonal produce in over 200 classrooms.Works in collaboration with Grass Valley School District Child Nutrition Services to support changes to the school meal program that enhance freshly made meals with locally and regionally grown fruits and vegetables.
