Description: Prosecutes felony and misdemeanor offenses that are investigated and referred by law enforcement agencies. Specialized vertical prosecution units have been established to handle child abuse, driving under the influence, auto theft, drug, spousal abuse, sexual assault, and statutory rape case. Provides a NSF Bad Check Program.In Nevada City, there are eight full time Deputy District Attorneys and an Assistant District Attorney. The Investigative Bureau consists of a Chief Investigator, three full-time investigators, three part-time investigators and a legal secretary. The office is supported by eight clerical staff two Victim Advocates and a Senior Admin Analyst.
