• Description: The Public Works department of the Nevada County Community Development Agency maintains and engineers roads and bridges, issues encroachment and oversize vehicle permits, maintains county vehicles, manages transfer stations, landfills, and wastewater plants.Public Works does NOT attend to downed power lines or other utililty lines, or gas leaks.Call 9-1-1 if... a power line is down you smell natural gas or propane, which indicates a possible gas leak for any other possibly life threatening situationA natural gas leak or a propane leak can be extremely dangerous.
