Description: Creates an alternative for people who are eligible for the regular CalWORKs cash assistance program but are not currently participating in the program. Offers a lump-sum payment which would address employment related or temporary problems such as transportation, personal needs, housing and utility costs, or child care expenses.This is one of many possible First 5 Nevada County Ready to Grow (R2G) program resources. Ready to Grow resources are those that support the well-being of children ages 0-5.

Eligibility: There must be children in the home or a person who is pregnant; with at least one parent who is absent, disabled or deceased; or both parents are in the home and the principal wage earner is not working or working less than 100 hours a month.There are also limits to the amount of money you can have coming to you and be eligible for CalWorks.
