• Description: The Placer Adult Literacy Service provides free, confidential, one-on-one tutoring for adults who wish to improve their literacy skills. This includes reading, writing, basic math, English as a second language ,and GED help.Our learners come from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels ~ some can't read or write at all, and some want to become more proficient. Once an initial assessment has been made, learners are matched with trained volunteer tutors.
