- Description: The Housing Rehabilitation program provides loans and grants for housing occupied by low-income families to correct home health and safety problems and help revitalize neighborhoods. Deferred payment loans (no monthly payment required) of up to $100,000 at 0% interest are available to qualified, owner occupied properties. Loans can also be used to make the home accessible to accommodate persons with disabilities. One time only grants of up to $5,000 are available to low-income elderly and/or disabled homeowners. These grants are used to correct health and safety defects and do not need to be repaid. Program funds are very limited.
