Description: The Northern California Indian Development Council (NCIDC) provides many programs to improve the quality of life for Native Americans of all ages. NCIDC is not affiliated with any specific tribe; it serves all Federally recognized tribes in California. Services include: 1. Work Incentive Act (WIA) (formerly JTPA) 2. CSBG 3. LIHEAP 4. Resource Center 5. Emergency housing; motel vouchers 6. Emergency food 7. NCIDC operates The American Indian Art and Gift Shop, located on the ground floor of the Carson Block Building. The shop assists Indian artists by providing a market for their products, and is a training ground for Indian people needing work experience to enter the job market.8. Cultural Mentoring ProjectCOVID 19 Update "We will continue our work providing services to eligible low-income Native Americans (this can include emergency rental assistance, food costs, cleaning supplies, and other emergency expenses). We are also working on setting up employment assistance for those of you who were laid off due to COVID-19." Services available by appointment only and will be offered through call, email, or other socially distance means, offices are currently closed.
