Description: The Union Labor Health Foundation, a supporting organization of the Humboldt Area Foundation, provides funds for this program. The Angel Fund is designed to provide assistance with medical and healthcare related needs for Humboldt County residents. Funds are generally granted on a one time basis. Items that are of a recurring nature are generally not funded. The fund services both children and adults. Application must be made through a qualified advocate (211 Humboldt Can fil these grants out for callers). Grants range from $20 - $500 maximum. There is approximately a two week turn around time for grants. With the exception of holidays, the Angel Fund committee meets each Friday. Completed requests are due before noon on Thursday. The committee appreciates advocates that submit requests early in the week to allow for questions to be answered or additional information provided that will assist the committee in making a decision. Advocates are also encouraged to obtain an application by fax and submit an application by fax, thereby allowing more time for consideration.
