Description: The Wood Stove Replacement Incentive Grant Program is not currently accepting applications. Please call the NCUAQMD staff at (707) 443-3093 for more information or to request to be notified when the next grant cycle opens. Open application period September 1st - 30th The incentive is a $500 grant to replace non-EPA certified wood heating appliances with more efficient EPA certified wood, natural gas, electric, or propane heating appliances. (Applications can either be downloaded or mailed to you.)Individuals who live within the boundaries of Humboldt, Trinity, or Del Norte who own the residence in which the stove is located are eligible. THIS GRANT DOES NOT APPLY TO THOSE EMPLOYED BY THE DISTRICT, IS A MEMBER OF THE DISTRICT BOARD, OR FAMILY MEMBERS OF EITHER THE EMPLOYEES OR THE BOARD.Once the application period has ended, applications will then be accepted at random and placed on a list from which the awards will be drawn. Based upon the order of this list, applications that are determined to be complete will be awarded a grant until all the allocated funds are gone. Applications not selected will be placed on an "eligible waiting list."The appliances cannot be purchased until after the grant is awarded and the old stove must be scrapped with documentation of its disposal. Self installation of the new device is not allowed. It must be installed by a licensed contractor.The grant application period is offered one time each year, generally late summer.
