Description: Big Lagoon School is a rural public elementary school serving grades K-8 situated on a 10-acre site, 26 miles north of Eureka, California. The school is located just off Highway 101, surrounded by a virgin spruce forest. Our students enjoy the benefits of being a five minute walk from a large freshwater lagoon and miles of sandy beaches and dunes, with a habitat rich in environmental opportunities associated with coastal Pacific lands. The district is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on the west, Big Lagoon County Park and the Yurok Indian Rancheria to the north, Simpson Lumber Company land to the east, and Patrick's Point State Park to the South.
