Description: Sexual assault is any sexual act, attempted or committed against any individual through bribing, coercing, intimidating, forcing or threatening violence. It can happen to anyone at anytime, anywhere. The use of alcohol or other drugs does not minimize the seriousness of sexual assault. Child sexual abuse is any sexual contact and/or exploitation between an adult or a juvenile and a child. Sexual abuse is never the survivor's fault. Support is available for all survivors, no matter when the assault occurred, no matter what age or gender. The North Coast Rape Crisis teams offers the following Free and Confidential services. It's never too late to call.Services include: 24-hour crisis counseling. Immediate supportive services to child/adult survivors of all genders of sexual assault. Support and information for families and friends of survivors. Information on medical and legal procedures survivors may encounter. Accompaniment to law enforcement agencies, medical appointments, court proceedings, etc. related to an assault. Advocacy on behalf of survivors with law enforcement, medical appointments, court personnel, etc. (advocacy is helping someone understand and assert their rights) Individual counseling Support groups for adult survivors of sexual assault. Information and referral to community resources, i.e. therapy, medical, social services and self defense workshops.
Eligibility: Available to survivors of all ages and genders regardless of when the assault happened.Available for significant others and allies wishing to seek information or support for survivorsor for themselves as they are also impacted.
