Description: Child care providers that are licensed by Community Care Licensing or are cleared by TrustLine can receive financial assistance for providing nutritious meals and snacks to children in care. Regardless if the children are also on a subsidized child care program, providers submit monthly claims and receive reimbursement based on location and income level of the provider or each individual family. Funded by the California Department of Education, providers must follow the nutrition guidelines (based on the US Department of Agriculture). Periodic visits to the providers are conducted by Changing Tides Family Services staff to provide technical assistance.
