Description: Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) are intensive, one-to-one services designed to help children and youth and parents/caregivers manage specific behaviors using short-term measurable goals based on the child or youth's needs. TBS services may be put into place to prevent the child or youth being placed in a higher level of care or to help the child or youth transition from the higher level of care to a less restrictive level of care. TBS is only available to child or youth with full scope MediCAL under the age of 21 years. It is not a stand-alone service and is provided in conjunction with other specialty behavioral health services.
