Description: South Bay and Pine Hill Family Resource Center is one of several Family Resource Centers (FRC) throughout Humboldt County. An FRCis a place where community members can access services and resources within their own neighborhood. We focus on improving the well-being of children, youth, families and communities by offering referrals and linkages to services.Family Services: family resource libraries, parenting workshops, clothing, emergency transportation, emergency basic needs, insurance Medi-Cal, CalWORKS and CalFresh enrollment assistanceFood: food backpack program for students, holiday food distribution, supper program in afterschool programMulti-Cultural: translating, interpreting, cultural presentations, multilingual information, bilingual children's books, adult English language classesAcademic: after school intervention, tutoring, educational materials, family support, school advocacy, student recognitionHealth: healthcare and dental referrals, health and nutrition education, lice eradicationMental Health: outreach and identification, assessments, early intervention, counseling, peer groupsCommunity: family events, adult education, no cost community meetingfacilities, volunteer opportunities, and recognition.Community Advocacy: participation on local regional and state committees, network with state and federal organizations, representative for children and family support services
