Description: The Leader-In-Training program is held in conjunction with our City of Eureka Summer Day Camps.This leadership based training program is a dynamic experience for participants 13-17 years old and provides hands-on experience that can immediately be applied to "real life" situations. This training program aims to foster personal and professional growth, teach life skills, encourage strong relationships and enable teens to enjoy meaningful experiences to enhance their college applications, career aspirations and lives!What Youth Will Gain: Leadership skills working with youth ages 5-12 Valuable work experience/community service hours Training in the following skills: communication, conflict resolution, team building, program planning, behavior guidance, responsibility, teamwork, time management and overall leadership Enjoy an active, productive summer outdoors An opportunity to make a difference in your community and impact the lives of childrenExpectationsAlthough L.I.T.s pay a fee to attend the program, we are very selective about our candidates and expect them to comply with all program guidelines. All those invited to participate should understand the opportunity is a privilege and approach it with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. All L.I.T.s must be excellent role models for our campers, have a genuine desire to work with children, and maintain a positive attitude.
