Highway to Housing will take place the 1st and 3rd of each month.Pathway to Payday, our free employment workshop series, kicks off on November 3, 2025 at 9:00AM at The Betty Kwan Chinn Day Center. For more information or to participate as a job seeker or employer, please call 707-672-2253 or go to uplifteureka.com/pathway for details.The City of Eureka's Uplift Community Resource Center's schedule of programs and activities for October:Mondays from 3-4PM: NAMI will be hosting a free support group for individuals with mental health challenges.Tuesdays from 10-11AM: Sierra Wood, Uplift's Homeless Services Supervisor, leads a Resume Building Workshop.Every other Tuesday 11AM-1PM: Financial advisor Winchell Dillenbeck will be available for one-on-one financial advice - including improving one's credit score! Appointments are required.1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30AM Spencer Schoening leads a four-week Highway to Housing series takes place, which outlines strategies to overcome rental history barriers and help secure the perfect place to call home! Attendees who complete the entire four weeks will be awarded a certificate from the City of Eureka to attach to their housing applications.Last Wednesday of the Month from 10:30AM-1PM: You can find Uplift conducting outreach outside St. Vincent de Paul (35 3rd Street).First Thursday of the month from 10-11AM: Preparing for an upcoming job interview Attend our Tips and Tricks job interview tutorial.First Friday of the month from 10:30AM-11:30AM: Resource Center Coordinator, Cynthia Bowman, leads a weekly Tools for Tenancy workshop. The workshop is designed to help newly housed individuals and families learn life skills necessary for successful tenancy. Classes will include a 20-30-minute discussion on the month's topic (understanding your lease, move-in form, budget, roommate etiquette) and will include an open question/conversation segment.Fridays from 1-3PM: Free Phone Fridays! If you receive CalFresh or MediCal, you are eligible for a free government phone. See the attached flyer for details.Fridays from 3-4PM: Mindfulness for Recovery meetings which will focus on mindfulness and acceptance for navigating a new path forward in recovery, with Bree Kirschner.FREE PHONE every Friday 1PM-3PM You MUST bring Photo ID, Medi-Cal or CalFresh Card + receipt for questions call UPLIFT 707-441-4242 ext. 1Additional Resources:Parents may also take advantage of our "Little Bottoms" Program.
