- Description: Assists Veterans, their dependents, and survivors with obtaining benefits and entitlements. These come from federal, state, and local agencies administering programs for Veterans. Advocates for Veterans' rights, and provides information and referrals.CVSO assists with obtaining state and federal benefits such as: Health care Compensation (service connected) Pension (non-service connected) Education and training Vocational rehabilitation VA/CalVet home loans Life insurance Burial reimbursements Survivor benefits Women veterans' issues College fee waiver (for dependents throughout California) Free lifetime TRAX bus passes.Offers Veteran I.D. cards which provide discounts at local participating businesses. Veteran claims and other benefits will always have priority over the I.D. cards.
