Services include: Help with finding employment Advocacy Peer counseling Independent living Communication assistance Help with domestic violence issues: Visit website DEAFSafe for contact information.Partners with One SAFE Place (in Shasta County). For the general public, provides information and referral, sensitivity training, and community outreach. Helps businesses and employers meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards. Provides sign language interpreting and real-time captioning services for fees.During PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events, provides help with: Finding a program that offers battery packs or generators on loan. This would allow one to charge phone, hearing aids, and other devices. Preparation services. Contacts people before an event to help them prepare. Before and during disaster events such as wildfires, provides help with: Developing emergency plans and identifying people who want help during a disaster. Safety evacuation plans. Identifying shelters. Providing interpretation services at shelters and at the Emergency Operation Center.
