• Description: The Shasta County Tobacco Education Program (TEP) educates the community about tobacco issues. Topics include laws, current research, and local tobacco-use statistics. Works with retailers, housing complexes, workplaces, schools, and youth to: Keep tobacco products out of the hands of youth Help tobacco-users quit Assist all people to live, work, and play in a tobacco-free community.The Shasta County Tobacco Education Coalition (TEC) provides a group of advocates. Services include:Representing various agencies and the publicRaising awareness about the harmful effects and environmental impacts of tobaccoDeveloping tobacco-free laws and policies Acting as the advisory board for the TEP.
