  • Description: Offers programs to help farmers and ranchers affected by the Park Fire in 2024. Programs include:Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees, and Farm-Raised Fish Program (ELAP): Emergency relief for losses due to wildfiresCovers physically damaged or destroyed livestock feed that was purchased, or mechanically harvested forage or feedstuffs intended for use as feed for the producer's eligible livestockCovers grazing losses due to wildfire on privately owned land for up to 180 days.Examples:Acres burned to cover supplemental feed costsHay stored that was burned Movement of livestock to an alternative locationLivestock Indemnity Program (LIP):Offers payments to eligible producers for livestock death losses in excess of normal mortality due to wildfires. Must provide verifiable documentation of death lossesMust submit a notice of loss to their local FSA office within 30 calendar days of when the loss of livestock is apparent.Emergency Conservation Program (ECP):Cost shares with producers to remove debris, repair or replace fencing and/or water conservation structures damaged or destroyed by wildfires.Examples:Replacement of interior/exterior fences Repair water infrastructure and troughs Remove burned barns, fencing, etc. Does not cover personal house.Additional Technical Assistance is available to livestock producers from University of California Cooperative Extension:Josh Davy, Tehama-Glenn-Colusa Counties Livestock, Range and Pasture Advisor 530-527-3101.
