Description: Provides volunteer opportunities which include:Medical Chaperone.Offers assistance to seniors with navigating medical care. Volunteers help prepare and accompany clients to appointments and help them understand medical advice.AmeriCorps Seniors program.Helps older adults become mentors, coaches, companions, or community volunteers through the Senior Companion, Foster Grandparent, and RSVP programs. Must be age 55+ and pass a background check. Senior Companion Program.Offers a companionship program to seniors who are wanting to remain living independently. Senior Companions provide 5 to 40 hours of service weekly that includes visiting in the home, driving to doctor appointments, going on walks, or to the grocery store. Eligible volunteers may receive a tax-free stipend, mileage reimbursement, and assistance with transportation.
