• Description: The City of Palmdale offers several nutrition programs including its Traditional Food Program that offers emergency food up to four times per fiscal year to needy families who do not qualify for food stamps or are waiting for food stamps to be approved. The City also offers the Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP) that offers a small food order intended to supplement, not cover, the entire monthly food needs of individuals and families. Households are eligible for an EFAP food order every two weeks. In addition, the SAVES program allows clients to receive an "Extra" food order on the week that they do not qualify for their "Regular" food order. For this program, clients receive a pre-packed food bag.
