Description: NECC provides screening for osteoporosis. It is recommended to get screened for any female 65 and over, or any female with the following: spinal abnormalities, early menopause, history of fractures, medications such as (steroids), medical conditions such as parathyroid and pituitary problems, insufficient intake of calcium and Vitamin D, low body weight, smoking or alcoholic consumption, ethnicity/race (usually White, Asian and Latino are higher risk), poor nutrition, and lack of exercise.
