  • Description: Wayfinder Family Services' Mental Health Services are provided to children up to age 22, in Junior Blind's Children's Residential Program, the foster care system or living in the community. Youth who have mental health disorders and may be medically fragile, multi-disabled or have chronic medical conditions, such as juvenile diabetes, muscular dystrophy or cystic fibrosis. Program services include: mental health assessments, behavioral intervention, individual and family therapy, collaboration with family and school, as well as other relevant agencies, medication evaluation and management assistance, support with social skills, conflict resolution and behavioral management, and crisis-intervention. Services are provided at home, school or community centers throughout Los Angeles, as well as on Junior Blind's campus. Children may be referred by parents, teachers, friends, pastors, pediatricians, coaches or the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
