- Description: Offers confidential assistance to service members and Veterans who are experiencing a crisis (such as thoughts of harming oneself, having thoughts of suicide, or who are becoming self-destructive). Service members and Veterans can call the crisis line even if they are not enrolled in Veterans Affairs health care or registered with Veterans Affairs. The Veterans Crisis Line can connect Veterans to their local suicide prevention coordinators (SPC), who follow up to coordinate care.
