  • Eligibility: - 18 years and older, Applicant must be the homeowner, Home must be located in Orange County; Home must be in need of repair due to structural deficiencies, safety issues, health related deficiencies, livability issues, or inability to maintain home; Home cannot have unpermitted or illegal additions; Homeowner must have current homeowner insurance policy; Homeowner must be up-to-date with mortgage loan payments and property taxes; Homeowner must be willing to verify income with Habitat For Humanity of Orange County; Household must meet maximum income guidelines; Homeowner must be willing to participate in repairs (to the extent they are physically able); Homeowner cannot resell home after repairs to make profit; All required documentation and information must be provided by given deadlines; If eligible, selection is dependent on Habitat For Humanity's assessment of need, homeowner's willingness to make financial contribution, and willingness to participate in repairs; REPAIR EXCLUSIONS: Foundation repairs, Construction/destruction of rooms and additions; Remodeling improvements NOT related to health, safety, or accessibility needs; Repairs on properties that are uninhabitable or have open permits; Repairs on properties that are currently being constructed, renovated, or remodeled and are not complete; Repairs that Habitat For Humanity of Orange County believe are unsafe for staff, volunteers, or contracted professionals
  • Requirements: If applicable, most recent mortgage statement; Most recent property tax statement; Proof of current homeowner's insurance, recorded deed; Valid Picture ID for all property owners; Passport or Birth Certificate for all property owners; Federal Income tax returns; W-2 and/or 1099 Forms for all employed household members; Pay stubs for previous two months for each employed household member; Child support, alimony, and monthly benefit statements; Annual letter indicating the amount of benefit household members are receiving (retirement benefits, pension, unemployment benefits, disability benefits, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKS) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), etc); All current checking and/or savings account statements for two months (stocks, individual retirement accounts (Individual Retirement Arrangements), pension accounts, mutual funds, etc)
