Description: Provides assistance dogs to people with developmental or physical disabilities. Applicants must prove that a canine companion will enhance their independence. Training requires a two-week live-in training at the Oceanside location.

Eligibility: - Skilled Companion Dog: 5 years and older; Service, Hearing, Therapy, or Facility Dog: 18 years and older; Must have a physical or developmental disability, or adults who are deaf or hard of hearing; Professionals working in health care, visitation, educational or criminal justice settings who can demonstrate that a service dog will enhance their independence or quality of life are qualified to apply; Must have an established and stable home suitable for service dog
