• Eligibility: - All ages, SPOUSE must meet one of the following conditions: lived with the Veteran or service member without a break until their death; If separated, the spouse was not at fault for the separation; Married the Veteran or service member within 15 years of their discharge from the period of military service during which the qualifying illness or injury started or got worse; Married to the Veteran or service member for at least 1 year; Had a child with the Veteran or service member; If remarried one must be true: spouse remarried on or after December 16, 2003 and were 57 years of age or older at the time of remarriage; spouse remarried on or after January 5, 2021 and were 55 years of age or older at the time of remarriage; CHILD must not be married, are not included on the surviving spouse's compensation, and are 18 years and younger (or 23 years and younger, if attending school); PARENT must be biological, adoptive, or the foster parent of the Veteran or service member and must meet income requirements (please check website for income limit requirements)
