Description: Provides services for young adults beginning with career exploration and guidance, continued support for educational attainment, opportunities for skills training in in-demand industries and occupations, and assists with establishing a good career pathway or enrollment in post-secondary education. Services include: Tutoring, study skills training and instruction Alternative secondary school services or dropout recovery services Paid and unpaid work experiences Occupational skill training Education offered with and in the same context as workforce preparation activities and traning for a specific occupation Leadership development opportunities Supportive services Adult mentoring Follow-up services Comprehensive guidance and counseling Financial literacy education Entrepreneurial skills training Services that provide labor market and employment information Activities that help prepare for and transition to post-secondary education and training
Eligibility: - OUT-OF-SCHOOL YOUTH: 16-24 years, Must be not attending any school and have dropped out of school, Must be school age but haven't attended school for at least the most recent complete school year's calendar quarter, Must have a secondary school diploma or equivalent, Have low-income and need basic skills development or English language learning, Have been involved with the criminal justice system, Experiencing homelessness or have run away from home, Are in foster care or have aged out or left foster care, Pregnant or parenting, Have low-income and require additional help to complete an education program or find employment; IN-SCHOOL YOUNG ADULT: 14-21 years, Must be attending school (including secondary and postsecondary school), Have low-income and need basic skills development or English language learning, Have been involved with the criminal justice system, Experiencing homelessness or have run away from home, Are in foster care or have aged out or left foster care, Pregnant or parenting, Have low-income and require additional help to complete an education program or find employment
