  • Description: Offers to test individual's existing smoke alarms to make sure they are in working condition. If an individual does not have alarms, or if the current alarms are old or not functioning, the team will replace them with new 10-year sealed battery smoke alarms.The team will also provide home fire safety education to teach household members how to prevent home fires and how to respond if and when the smoke alarms go off.NOTE: Alarms are available for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Due to program limitations, we are not able to service alarms installed in high ceilings, alarms that are hard-wired, or alarms that are part of a home security system.
