Description: Opens a warming center to 150 men, women, and children who were not able to secure a bed from one of the shelters in town.The warming center allows people to find refuge from winter weather from November through February.Refreshments are provided. Located in the cafeteria where clients sit at tables, no beds are provided. Clients are not allowed to sleep on the premises. No smoking, drinking, or cussing. No pets allowed. All rules have to be observed for the safety of all. Clients cannot call UGM to get let into the shelter or reserve a space. Phone assistance is only available during regular office hours.
Hours: Nights of Monday, November 4th, 2024, through Friday, February 28th, 2025;Seven days a week, 10 pm - 5 am;The final night is February 28th, 2025, 10 pm to March 1, 2025, 5 am;Office Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8 am - 4 pm; Fridays, 8 am - Noon;Phone assistance is only available during regular office hours. Messages received after hours will be returned by staff at their earliest convenience.
Eligibility: Open to men, women, and children. Clients are not allowed to sleep on the premises. No smoking, drinking, or cussing. There is no storage on site for clients' items. Clients are only allowed to bring what they can carry. Service Animals are allowed. No pets or Emotional Support Animals are allowed.
Accessibility: Potential limitations to access - call for details. Access available to disabled for chapel, meals, food boxes, and clothing closet. Must be able to walk up the stairs to sleep in bunk beds. Men's shower is wheelchair accessible.
