- Description: Early childhood intervention program that uses the nurse home-visitation model. Public health nurses make home visits during a woman's pregnancy and the first two years of the child's life. Nurse visitation schedule is based on the developmental stages of pregnancy and childhood.Program goals: Improve pregnancy outcomes by helping women practice sound health-related behaviors. Improve child health and development. Improve families' economic self-sufficiency.
