Description: If a child has suffered or is at risk of serious harm as a result of abuse or neglect, a petition may be filed with the Sacramento County Juvenile Court to make the child a dependent of the Court.Court Services Social Workers:Investigate the allegations and prepare reports based on the facts of the investigation and a social study of the family.Make a dispositional recommendation to the Court regarding the placement of the child.Assist the family in developing a case plan to address the issues that led to Court involvement. The case plan will be presented to the Court and may include parenting classes, counseling, etc.
Eligibility: Individuals and families that need the assistance of a Court Services Social Worker.Cases come to Court Services from the Emergency Response Program after the investigation of the initial CPS referral has resulted in the need for Juvenile Court intervention.
