Description: Assists students who are receiving CalWORKS with pursuing their educational and occupational goals while meeting welfare-to-work county guidelines and requirements.The program staff and counselors:Ensure students are enrolled and following an Individual Student Educational Plan (ISEP) that leads to self-sufficiencyAssist students in understanding their rights and responsibilities as students of Los Rios and recipients of CalWORKsEnsure students are receiving the county's supportive services for which they are eligibleCreate an environment within the CalWORKs program that is intentional, streamlined, and cohesiveServices provided:Academic and Personal CounselingWork-Study ProgramsHelp with Textbooks and School SuppliesHelp with Monthly Attendance/Progress ReportView application page.
Hours: Office: Monday through Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm
Eligibility: To be eligible, individuals must:- Be enrolled at Sacramento City College (Classes must fulfill their county weekly hourly obligation)- Be receiving CalWORKs cash aid for both themselves and their child- Maintain good academic standing.- Select a county-approved occupation
Requirements: CalWORKs Aid Verification Form and Student Consent for Release of Student Records.
