  • Description: Offers grants up to $5,000 for emergency/health and safety repairs and accessibility modifications to owners of single-family homes or mobile homes in the City of Sacramento; the cities of Galt, Folsom, and Isleton; and the unincorporated area of Sacramento County. Not available in Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, or Rancho Cordova. SEASONAL PROGRAM: The program takes applications from June 1st through August 31st and December 1st through February 28th. (Closed March-May and September-November)Emergency Repairs are limited to the following: Roofing (for leaking roofs) (patching only on houses, full replacements only on single-wide mobile homes) (Winter only) Exterior Entry Doors (repair only) Exterior Windows (for broken windows) (replacement or repair) Accessibility Repairs and Installation such as ramps, handrails, or repairing walkways (only for clients released from a medical facility) Water Heaters (replacement or repair) Heating Systems/Cooling Systems (repair, replacement (small units only), or purchase of wall heaters or wall air conditioning units) (Heating systems in winter only, Cooling systems in summer only) Plumbing Interior (water lines, sewer lines, toilet repairs, etc.) Electrical (repair of breakers, panels, or wiring) Gas Lines (repair only of Natural Gas, CNG, Propane) Floors (repair only)

  • Eligibility: SHRA offers emergency home repair assistance to very low-income owner-occupants of single family homes or mobile homes within the City of Sacramento; the Cities of Galt, Folsom, and Isleton; and unincorporated areas of the County of Sacramento. To qualify for the program, the home must be owner-occupied and in need of a repair to resolve an immediate safety or health hazard, dangerous or hazardous condition, or fire or health code violation. There is a per-property and per-client maximum of $5,000 (disbursed for program-covered repairs). SHRA administers the repair work and hires and pays the contractors.
