• Description: A United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) program designed to help children receive nutritious, well-balanced meals. Program is available to children under the age of 13 who are in licensed family childcare homes. Beanstalk acts as an umbrella sponsor for over 600 licensed family childcare homes throughout the region. Beanstalk staff regularly monitor homes/centers for compliance and offer technical assistance and training. Meals must meet the standards established by the USDA. Benefits of the program: Reimburses the childcare provider for the partial cost of meals that are served to children in their care. Helps lower the cost of childcare.Reduces food purchasing cost. Offers prompt payment (issued within 5 business days of reimbursement to Beanstalk from the State).

• Eligibility: A provider must meet the following criteria to qualify:- Be licensed or Trust Line registered- Be willing to serve meals that meet USDA requirements- Have at least one child in care- Keep accurate and up-to-date records- Submit CACFP records monthly- Be available during meal times for monitoring reviews and to meet with program representatives- Participate in annual training and ongoing training
