Research, captive breeding programs, and education of visitors are all part of the zoo's efforts to promote understanding of the global environment, awareness of the plight of endangered animals, and the need to promote the conservation of the world's natural resources.Picnic facilities, refreshment stands, and a gift shop are also available.Edible trees and shrub trimmings can be donated to feed the animals.
