Description: Offers developmentally disabled adults the chance to increase their independent living skills and reduce their feelings of isolation.Adults who participate will work on daily living skills, verbal and non-verbal communication, and person-centered planning. Activities include basic instruction in computer skills, practical math and reading, functional living skills, and self-advocacy. Individuals will also have an opportunity to engage with their community through outings, helping them practice their new skills in a variety of settings.
Eligibility: Adults with significant cognitive disabilities due to conditions including autism, epilepsy, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, or cerebral palsy. In addition, individuals that require support with physical challenges can also benefit.
Requirements: Doctor's diagnosis of a developmental disability, and a referral from Alta California Regional Center.
