Description: Offers a 7 to 14-day respite facility for individuals 18 years of age and older with a psychiatric disability. Provides a short-term alternative to an emergency department visit, or acute hospitalization for persons experiencing overwhelming stress, which can be alleviated with a brief respite stay. Abiding Hope Respite House is a coed facility that houses a maximum of five clients each day.Services include: Care management Transportation to medical and psychiatric appointments Resource linkage, including regular check-ins Communal kitchen and living area Psychiatric and medication support services After-hours crisis support AdvocacyDoes not provide Housing Assistance.
Eligibility: Individuals 18 years of age and older with a psychiatric disability. Must be motivated to work towards goals and recovery. Clean and sober for two weeks, takes medications without assistance, not at high risk for suicide or self-harm, peaceful, no violent history, not a registered sex offender, willing to do chores, willing to complete daily hygiene, ambulatory, mobile (not using a wheelchair, walker or crutches).
