Description: Provides rebates to Sacramento County Water Agency (SCWA) residential and commercial customers for converting existing grass to native and drought-tolerant landscaping with drip irrigation systems. Residential customers may receive a rebate of $1 per square foot of grass converted. Up to a maximum of $2,000 per household.Commercial and institutional customers may receive a rebate of $1.50 per square foot of grass converted. Up to a maximum of $2,500 per customer.Rebates will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis as projects are confirmed to be completed.

Eligibility: Individual must be a customer of The Sacramento County Water Agency and:- Be the current property owner of a single-family residence or industrial/commercial property or be the authorized representative.- Have their utility accounts in good standing.- Have grass (dead or alive) intact when applying for the rebate. Grass that has already been removed is not eligible.
Requirements: Completed application packet which includes:- A sketch of the project conversion area along with measurements- A Payee Data Record formEmailed photos must have been taken within the last 30 days and should show the area where the lawn will be removed.
