Description: Provides rebates to qualifying residential and commercial customers for converting existing grass with native and drought-tolerant landscaping. Sacramento County Water Agency (SCWA) residential customers may receive a rebate of $1.00/square foot up to a maximum of $2,000 per household or $1.50/square foot up to a maximum of $2,500 for commercial and industrial customers.Rebates will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. SCWA reserves the right to terminate the program at any time, for any reason.

Eligibility: The individual must be a customer of The Sacramento County Water Agency, and:- Be the current property owner of record of a single-family residence or industrial/commercial property, or his/her authorized representative.- Have their utility accounts in good standing.- Have grass (dead or alive) intact when applying for the rebate. Grass that has already been removed is not eligible.
Requirements: Completed application packet which includes:- A sketch of the project conversion area along with measurements- A Payee Data Record form (in lieu of IRS W-9)Must also email a minimum of three photos to SCWARebate@saccounty.gov. Photos must have been taken within the last 30 days and should show the area where the lawn will be removed.
